Deception

£175.00

Title: Deception
About the Work: This deeply personal painting was inspired by more than twenty years of love, patience and devotion to someone I believed I could trust. I gave much of my time, care and emotional energy to being there for her through both good and difficult times, only to eventually realise that the love and commitment were not equally shared.

The mask represents the person I believed she was, while the demon behind it symbolises the deception, betrayal and emotional pain I experienced. The act of being stabbed from behind represents the devastating feeling of being hurt by someone I had trusted and supported for so many years.

Through this painting, I explore love, vulnerability, betrayal, loss and the painful realisation that people are not always who we believe them to be. It is a deeply personal experience transformed into a visual expression of heartbreak and emotional awakening.

Material Used: Staedtler Fineliners on Winsor & Newton Marker Paper
Dimensions of Artwork: 420×420mm

Original Artwork by the Artist
